QBE is an initiative supported by a group of adventure-sports enthusiasts, most of whom attended or taught at a Swiss boarding school known for its extraordinary outdoor experiences. Realizing that most schools don’t get their students outside, we looked around and found a couple of uncommon, extremely photogenic traditional sailboats to take teens on adventures to off-the-beaten-path ports and anchorages along the scenic coastlines of western France, the Channel Islands, and southern England. After all, when it comes to outdoor adventure, nothing beats the camaraderie, daily adrenaline rushes, and personal satisfaction of small-yacht sailing in our postcard corner of Europe. It’s the sort of challenging experience that promotes self-mastery, builds confidence, and unleashes amazing potential—academic and personal. And participants don’t have to be extremely fit to trim the sails. Itineraries for school groups may be customized to meet special requirements.
